European Delegates in the Bay Area
Together with our Danish partners representing Molio, Stanford CIFE, and buildingSMART Denmark, we were thrilled to co-organize two immersive events in Silicon Valley early February 2025 that brought together Danish professionals, US asset owners, and Silicon Valley innovators. The goal was to foster meaningful connections, exchange insights, and explore collaborative opportunities at the intersection of construction, sustainability, and emerging technologies.
Building Connections 2025
The first event took place at the Jerry Yang and Akiko Yamazaki Environment and Energy Building (Y2E2) on the Stanford campus. It was an action-packed day filled with presentations, interactive discussions, and networking. We were honored to have representatives from a diverse range of organizations, including Caltrans, the General Services Administration (GSA), the National Institute of Building Sciences (NIBS), Singapore agencies, Stanford Healthcare, and several leading technology companies.
The discussions centered around the future of construction, with a focus on sustainability, robotics, digitalization, and industrialization. Highlights included a thought-provoking presentations on the latest trends in these areas, as well as insightful 5-minute talks by Stanford CIFE researchers on their cutting-edge work. The hybrid interactive sessions allowed for lively exchanges of ideas and perspectives from in-person and online participants.
Following the workshop, the group had the opportunity to visit the Stanford Robotics Center and explore the campus before heading to the Koi Palace restaurant in Milpitas for a well-deserved dinner.
European Professional Delegation & Silicon Valley Startups
The second event, held at the Olympic Club Lakeside Clubhouse in San Francisco, brought together a European professional delegation and representatives from Silicon Valley startups. The workshop format allowed for engaging discussions around the current construction challenges in California and Denmark, as well as the potential role of AI in improving sustainability and profitability.
Start-ups from various fields, including construction optioneering, IoT, invoice processing, and AI-powered problem identification, presented their innovative solutions and engaged in lively Q&A sessions. The event also featured reflections and discussions on potential collaboration opportunities between the participants.
Throughout both events, the energy and enthusiasm were undeniable as attendees shared their insights, forged new connections, and explored ways to drive positive change in the built environment. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to co-host these enriching gatherings and look forward to continued collaboration!
